A Peek into Madison's Big Girl Room

I can't believe it's almost time to move Madison to a big girl room.  It's seems like two seconds ago I was working on her nursery.  I know she would be in her nursery for a while longer if her baby brother wasn't quickly on his way.  He needs that crib! :)  The bedding is from the same line as her baby bedding.  You can see from the nursery post that some of the same fabric is used.  I am now able to use the pillows in the big girl room.  Jason and his dad painted her room this past weekend.. I'm slowly putting the room together so here is a sneak peek!

Madison had preschool this morning.  On Mondays she has chapel and is supposed to wear this beautiful orange T-shirt.  This is the first Monday she has attended and for the record it KILLED me to dress her in this attire.  However, I didn't want her to be the only child in some cute dress and tights while all the other kids had their orange T-shirt on.  (It has butterflies and the school name written across the front).

So anyway.. she was playing with this cup and I glanced in the rear view mirror.  She had ripped her matching orange bow out (if you're going to do it.. do it right and coordinate with a bow) and had this cup on her head.  She rode the entire way looking more like a traffic cone than a toddler.

Once we arrived I pulled her into the front seat to redo her hair.  She blew the horn a few times and had my wipers going, but we got that bow back in.  I looked up and noticed all of the kids going in to school dressed in anything BUT that orange shirt.  I was so confused.  I then realized it was picture day!!!! OH MY GOSH!!!  I can't wait to get her pictures back for a lifetime of orange shirt cuteness!!  And of course they did a class picture.. I'm sure everyone will look at Madison for years to come wondering why her mama couldn't dress her in something other than that orange shirt! :)

Be Mine!

Once again this year I dressed Madison in red and pink as much as I could for the week. This was the outfit she wore in her infamous Santa photo. (She should be in a toothpaste commercial!)

We tried out a new church this morning with new friends!  Madsion looked pretty in pink to see her new friend, Alex.

We had to change into something a bit more comfortable for the afternoon.  This is probably the third time she's worn this outfit this week.  (I bought the top on Etsy and the pants are from Mini Boden, one of my favorite baby stores.)

We spent the afternoon decorating cookies.  While Madison took a nap I prepared them.  I used this recipe off of Kelly's Recipe Blog.

Madison LOVED the sprinkles WAY more than the cookies or icing.

However, if there were any stuck on her hand she wanted her daddy to wipe it off.

It was tough to end this project.. she did not want to stop.  There were only so many sprinkles in a shaker!  If we tried to take any of the shakers away she had a fit.  When she wasn't looking Jason slowly took them away one by one until she was down to this one and realized something was terribly wrong!

This afternoon while I was baking cookies Jason ran to one of our new favorite stores.. IKEA.  He bought a bed for our guest room.  Madison's Nana and Pop will be here for a visit Thursday so we needed to get a bed ready for them!  To entice her off the stool we told her she could help daddy with another project upstairs.

They had to break for a boo boo kiss.

My favorite!

I'll show an "after" of the room once it's finished.  We had a wonderful, but very busy Valentine's Day!  Madison's gift is tickets to see Elmo live on Friday!  I'm so excited to take her.

P.S.  Happy Birthday Doonie!  (My mom turned 50 yesterday).  Dad surprised her with a trip to New Mexico.  They are there now.. I wish I had photos of her on the trip, but she sent this one of dad... Looks like fun.  I would LOVE to be skiing!

Rainy Day Valentine Crafts AND the Kitchen Sink.. Again!

I had to pick up a few things at Hobby Lobby a few days ago and they had all of their Valentine items 50% off.  I figured Madison would love to make a card for her dad.

I asked her to hold up her card when she finished.. to my surprise and delight.. she did!  (Daddy.. here is a sneek peak at your card).  By the way, we used glitter to write on the inside.  No photos of this because glitter + 21 month old = disaster.  It will be a LONG LONG time before glitter is EVER pulled out in this house again.

I took craft ink and stamped her hands.  I think I'm going to cut them out and use them on her Valentine's Day scrapbook pages.

After all that crafting she needed a bath.  Her hands were several shades of pink and red.  I started with sitting her on the counter and washing her hands and she was having so much fun the next thing I knew she was stripped down and in the sink.  She played and I cleaned up!

I can hear her laughter just by looking at the second photo...

My New Favorite...

Her days in the sink are numbered... poor baby.

27 Weeks...

tomorrow! I keep meaning to take a picture of my belly. However, when Jason's around it just never seems to happen. So this morning I did a self portriat. It was either that or there would be no documentation of this baby!

WHOA.. seeing myself puts a whole new perspective on the situation. This sweater is stretched a whole lot further than at this point in my pregnancy with Madison! I read in "What to Expect When You're Expecting" that there is proof that women carrying boys tend to eat more and deliver heavier babies than with girls... That kinda made me feel better because I have an insatiable appetite!

What's that behind me? The white boxes are a new water softener. Apparently a must have where we live. (I must say I agree with all the white spots in my shower and sinks.) I have also put cloth diapering on hold until it's installed. Oh.. not the white boxes? You mean through the double doors?

That would be our dumping grounds

I am so excited. I found a preschool that had an opening for Madison. I searched the web, called around, and took a few tours until I finally found one that had an opening. She started this morning. She's in a two year old class. Hopefully, she'll learn good things from older kids. I dressed her with Valentine's Day in mind. I can't believe how much she has grown since last year...

This photo cracks me up because I had no idea until I uploaded it that she was dripping Kefir (aka liquid yogurt). I couldn't figure out why the dogs were following us around and licking the floor either.

She's eating 1/2 a peppermint. She calls all hardish candy "Tic Tacs."

I bought this top last year. It's a 12-18 months. I bought the leggings in a 12-18 (seen below) and in a 18-24.. which she is currently wearing. It was a dress last year and a top this year. I try to think ahead!

Unpacking, Decorating, etc.

We've been doing a whole lotta this...

I have emptied so many boxes!  Madison has been very helpful especially when she takes long naps.  :)

I'm finally getting around to some of the decorating.  Today we hung curtains in the master.  (Okay.. Jason did most of the hanging.  He's a little annoyed at my picture taking.  He's asking me to hand him something here.. )

Meanwhile Madison and I goofed around on the floor.  Nana and Pop sent her a Valentine's Day care package.  She's showing off her conversation hearts.  (Madison and I are BOTH enjoying the goodies!)

Helping daddy...

She is posing more and more for the camera.. she loves to say "CHEESE!!"

She spotted herself in my mirror yet to be hung.  I just love these.  It almost looks like she has a twin except for the fingerprints and kiss marks on the mirror.

NOW.. for the curtains...

I hope to one day replace my dining room chairs with BIG SOFT CUSHY white chairs!  I also want to replace the table cloth with something that coordinates a little better.  I plan to pick out some fabric and whip it up myself.  Hopefully I can accomplish it before Baby Boy G arrives.
