Christmas Cards

This year I worked for it.. I worked for it and at first thought I didn't get a great shot. The rocking chair was meant for Callan.  The candy Tyler is chewing was meant for after the photo, not during.  I learned with three kids 4 and under I was blessed or lucky to get a photo where they were all looking in at least one direction.  This photo will speak to me forever.  It will tell the story of how they were then.  I'm gonna miss this!

Tyler was normally no where to be seen.  He was running.. or rolling... or fit pitching anywhere, but where I wanted him.

I could count on Madison and Callan...

most of the time....

If Tyler was in position and looked.. he looked like this.... MAD or sulking.  Not the JOY I was looking for in our Christmas cards!

I'm happy. I'm actually happy with ALL OF THEM!

Busy Bee

Busy Bee is the mascot of Madison's class.  Each week a different child gets to take him home.  Madison has been waiting patiently all semester and she finally got to bring him home.  My child is a lover of stuffed animals and coveted this bee.  Busy got to go everywhere with her... even to see Santa!

Busy spent every night warm and cozy in Madison's bed.  I went to turn her light off the first night he slept over and found him like this...

Busy visited Madison's other preschool.. (she goes to two different ones this year!).

He also watch Polar Express projected outside at a neighbors house.  (Can you believe it's that warm here in Texas?!)

Bust went shopping...

and helped decorate our tree!
Busy had a busy week!

Along with providing a home for Busy for the week, Madison was responsible for journaling his stay with us!  We had a lot of fun adding her pictures and writing about his stay in her class journal.  We should get him one more time next semester.. I hope to take a picture of our journaling next time!

Callan - 8 Months

Dear Callan,

You are 8 months old!  You are sitting up well.  You are not crawling and not even aspiring to crawl!  No worries... Madison nor Tyler crawled until they were 10 months old.  You are a lot like your siblings, but a lot not like your siblings.  You love vegetables.  The other two hated them!  You eat cooked broccoli, peas, sweet potatoes.. you eat whole ripe avocado!  You like mashed bananas and you love Cheerios!

You started a nursing strike with me this month.. I think it's because you got two new teeth at the same time.  I have never been through a nursing strike with a baby and let me tell you it has been no fun for either of us!  I have consulted everyone I know including the Le Leche league and I'm not sure if you and I are going to survive this.    I also think you just hate to miss out on what's going on and you seem to much prefer a bottle so you don't miss a thing your siblings are doing.

Madison still loves to "babysit" you for me.  She comes in your room every night to kiss you on the head.  Most nights she sings your lullabies.  They are mostly ones she has made up, but we sit and listen and you just smile and coo at her!

Tyler loves you too.. he loves to swing you back and forth in your jumperoo.  I usually have to come to your rescue and explain to him that the jumperoo is not for swinging.  It's hard to convince him that it could hurt you because you are usually hysterically laughing while he does it!!  Ugh you two.. I think I have many years to come of this craziness with you two!  He also likes to give you a nice shove while you are sitting.. just to see your fall over.  What are we going to do with that boy?!

You LOVE LOVE LOVE to stick everything in your mouth.  I was fishing whole leaves out of your mouth while taking these photos.

You were not having anything to do with me and my camera.  You have come alive this month with noticing your surroundings!

I love love love you so much my sweet, easy going, baby boy!

I mean really... need I say more??!!

It was his first Halloween!

I finally got Jason to shave his scary beard this week.  UGH!

The kids had so much fun and so did we!!!  I love Halloween.  It's about community. I love seeing my neighbors and interacting!

This baby was a trooper for a late night!

My littlest pumpkin...

I needed some pictures of my SEVEN month old by himself with pumpkins.  I scooted out into the front yard and set up my own pumpkin patch.

Callan is such a sweet sweet baby that I considered taking him to the doctor just to see if something could be wrong.  I decided against it... I think I would end up looking nuts.  "Doctor.. My baby is too good.  He never complains and smiles all the time.  Is something wrong with him?"    I thought Tyler was an easy baby.  In hindsight he was hard.. very very hard.

My failed attempts to get all three in the photo... where is Tyler you might ask??  (Is it just me or does Madison look really grown up all of a sudden?)

Tyler was busy being Tyler...

Here it is.. my favorite picture of my littlest pumpkin....

Still summer in October...

I've lived in Texas now going on three years.  I am still trying to get used to the weather!!  It was in the high 80's Sunday.  We have worn jeans maybe once this fall.  The Kona ice truck is still coming around screaming it's loud summer music!  We were out front playing and I just couldn't deny them a treat.
I love this picture of Tyler.. I can't decide if I like color or black and white better.  It just goes to show you don't need a fancy landscape to take a sweet picture!

Four and a half...

Already?!  It seems like just last week we were celebrating her fourth birthday.  I've never been sad about her birthdays, but turning five is going to make me sad.  I know we aren't there yet, but will time please slow down?!

Madison you are....

extremely outgoing

You are a lover of...

"Ty Ty"

If I had one word to describe you it would be "joy."  You exude it.  You are the happiest child.  You always have a smile on your face and you certainly put one on mine.  Most of the time...  Don't worry, you are a very balanced child. You have perfected your four year old sassy attitude as well.  :)

Love you!

Sitting Up

He is.. he's sitting up!!!  I wouldn't leave him on the tile, but he's doing a pretty good job.

He tips over every once in a while.
His Doc Band has come in handy a few times!  I promise I leave it on the 23 hours a day he is supposed to wear it.  I just don't want all his baby pictures to include it.  He's been just amazing with it.  He hasn't lost one second of sleep since he got it.  (Thank goodness!)
Oh and look... I'm finally getting some help around here!!

Madison much much much preferred to be pushed.  We have had this trike for two years and she either refused to ride it or she would on sit on it and have me push her.  I thought by pushing her she would get the hang of pedaling.  She kinda did, but not really.

Last week her preschool had bike day and all the kids took their bikes to school.  Madison got her license!

She hasn't looked in her rear view mirror since!

She pulls over to pick the occasional flower....
or slows to ring her bell....
But these days I'm usually far behind in her rear view.
